WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NANNY AND A NEWBORN CARE SPECIALIST?
Nannies care for children in the privacy of your home. They provide a safe and nurturing environment. They are knowledgeable about child appropriate activities and have an engaging approach to help the child learn and grow. They help with anything related to children including getting them ready for their day (dressing, bathing, grooming), preparing meals for them, driving to school ,appointments and activities.  They help keep kids home areas tidy, including light chores (kids laundry, loading and unloading dish washer etc).  They also help them with reading, tutoring,  homework, playing and excising!

Newborn Care Specialist- Also are commonly known as night nanny, baby nurse or night nurse. Their job is to provide your family with support and expert infant/newborn care for the first weeks of life following birth. They typically work nights to help parents catch up on that much needed sleep. Their duties include feeding (baby bottle) or bringing it to mother to nurse, burping and easing back to sleep after feeding, sterilizing bottles, keeping logs of baby sleep, feedings and diapering. They help educate parents about infant care, help with sleep training, provide parent support, help with lactation questions or issues and help create a nurturing environment for baby and family.

WHAT IS TYPICAL IN REGARDS TO NANNY SALARY, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS?

Nanny Salary is usually based on your city of residence, job description, number of children, responsibilities and the candidate’s prior experience. The usual range is $22-28 an hour for a nanny. An Infant Specialist’s rate range is $30-$35/hour for one baby (singleton) and $35-$45/hour for twins.
Live in Nanny’s Salary can range between $3000-$4000 a month.

Benefits- Most families highly value their nannies and provide them with Paid Vacation, Paid Sick days, and Paid Holidays. Some provide a Medical Stipend and Petrol Reimbursement if the position entails driving kids in their own car.

WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM A NANNY?

Our nannies pride themselves on taking a proactive approach in the home and helping with the little extras that make a big difference. Children are their priority. The candidates have chosen this career because they love engaging with children, assisting with their developmental milestones and supporting you with anything that pertains to them. We always want them to feel welcomed and valued for all they do. Please keep in mind that they are childcare professionals and if they take initiative and help with little extras it is because they love your family not because it is expected of them.  If you are hoping for a housekeeper or professional organizer, someone to only drive the children around or for a personal Chef we may not be the best fit for you.
